In June 2016, the Association hosted the fourth Summer Ball. Now the highlight of the Manor Hall year, the event saw nearly 180 residents, students, alumni and friends come together in Manor Hall to celebrate the community we share, the end of another academic year and the achievements of those Manor Hall students were due to graduate that July. The evening began with a drinks reception in the beautiful gardens and we were blessed again with glorious sunshine. A five-course dinner in the Great Hall then followed and Manorites of all ages enjoyed eating, drinking and laughing together, sharing the memories we forged within the walls of Manor Hall. Toasts and speeches followed, including the presentation of the Elton House Award, nominated and awarded to and by members of our community who have given outstanding service to the Hall. This year's recipients were outgoing JCR President Tom Phillips and retiring Senior Resident, Chris Mayo. Congratulations to them both. The festivities continued in the bar, library and garden with a live band, DJ set and casino until late.
