The main building of Manor Hall is now closed for a year long refurbishment from September 2012 to September 2013. Planning has been moving ahead since it was first announced in December 2011. For the year 2012/13 the main base for hall events will be in Clifton Hill House (CHH), with staff also temporarily moved to Goldney Hall.
The hall, having now being open for 80 years is showing many signs of ageing. The refurbishment includes: some of the roof set to be replaced, internal water, gas, heating and electrical systems upgraded, communal areas and hall facilities refurbished, study bedrooms and corridor facilities improved.
When it reopens students will be able to enjoy facilities that are much more centralised and able to provide for the expanded site, with Richmond Terrace now included in the Mnaor Hall complex.
