In December the Association hosted its annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols in the Great Hall, Manor Hall. This perennial favourite saw generations of Manorites come together to sing in the festive season. This year's Carol Service also saw the inaugural performance of the Manor Hall Association choir; made up of resident and student members of this Association, they really added that something special to this year's service and guests were treated to a choir only rendition of Gabriel's Message without accompaniment!
Lessons were read by all facets of the Manor Hall community, from first year residents right the way up to our Vice-Presidents. Unfortunately the Warden was unable to attend this year's service due to a prior engagement. A retiring collection was in place to raise funds for the Jessie May Trust; a local charity that provides home hospice care to terminally ill children - as we're sure you'll agree a more than worthwhile cause.
After the traditional festivities mulled wine and mince pies were served in the Stops Gallery before guests made their way down to the bar and Junior Common Room. An enjoyable evening was had by all.
