About the Association

The Manor Hall Association is the alumni network that keeps current and former residents of Manor Hall, University of Bristol connected with both the Hall and each other. Throughout the year we put on a vibrant array of events catering for both members and non-members alike.

We have a long and varied history, first being founded in 1925 as the Elton House Association. Elton House was one of the female student hostels that merged to form Manor Hall in 1932.

Feel free to use this site to find out more about the work we do and to become a member.

The MHA Fund

The MHA Fund is a charitable fund aimed as enhancing the experience of current residents of Manor Hall and its annexes. The fund is administered by the Executive Committee and money awarded on application from the current student body.

History of Manor Hall and its Annexes

Manor Hall and its annexes have a long and rich history. With the Hall itself being build in the grounds of a medieval Manor House and one of its annexes, Richmond House is one of the oldest surviving original houses in Clifton - once boasting the oldest working flushing lavatory in Bristol!
